We’ll Compel Nigeria To Accept Gay Marriage – US

As President Muhammadu Buhari prepares to meet with his United States counterpart, Barack Obama, in the White House next Monday, the US government is expected to make another case asking the Nigerian government to repeal its law against same-s*x unions.

Making this known Monday, the US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, stated that the US would continue to pressure Nigeria until it legalizes same-s*x marriage.

According to the Nigerian Pilot, Thomas-Greenfield revealed America’s plans yesterday during a live-web chat with journalists in Washington DC.

US recently legalized gay marriage, a development, which sparked off mixed reactions across the globe.
Thomas-Greenfield, who said the US had adopted the protection of the rights of same-s*x people as part of its foreign policies, vowed that Washington would continue to mount and sustain pressure on Nigeria and other countries to reverse their laws against lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender (LGBT) community.

She said: “As a government, it is one of the highest priorities and strongest values that discrimination against anyone based on their s*xual orientation and gender identity is wrong. We believe human rights should be available to everybody.

 “As a policy, we will continue to press the government of Nigeria, as well as other governments which have provided legislation that discriminate against the LGBT community.”

Thomas-Greenfield, who did not agree that pressuring Nigeria to reverse the anti-gay law amounted to interference, said Nigeria and Uganda have the hardest legislation on the gay community.

She said: “This is very much a work in progress, but I think you will agree with me that the law in Nigeria really went far in discriminating against this community but also people who associate with them. So, we will continue to press the government, to press the legislature to change these laws and provide human rights for all Nigerian people regardless of their s*xual orientation.”

Thomas-Greenfield was optimistic that the US would win the fight to protect the LGBT community.

She continued: “With what is happening in the US, you can determine how far we are willing to go. We strongly believe human rights for all people and we are particularly opposed to legislation that actually targets the gay community for discrimination.

“So we are prepared to push this as a policy, not just in Africa but across the world.”

News reaching Kedutaiment is that the then former EME Star Boy Skales will be gracing the KADUNA-WHITE-PARTY (K•W•P) with his presence as he sets to launch his first studio album in Kaduna.

The "Shake Body" crooner took to Instagram last month to announce the launching of his album after kicking off a success start in Lagos.

An undisclosed source told Kedutainment (name withhold) that Skales might just be making a surprise entry into the Party this Sunday to support Kaduna Entertainment as well as his long time friend Marvellous.


Marvellous and Skales made it way back in YWAP before Skales finally move to Lagos.

Skales album launch is slated to hold on the 26 July @ Space 2000 just few days after Marvellous Kaduna White Party which is schedule to hold this Sunday 19th 4pm @Chimcherry Hotel Barnawa with the likes of Philips Omachi (Oga Driver, DH, AT, DanZaki, E-Man, Adams Palmer, Zee Tee, Babangida Yerima, Mr Kc, Henzee, Tee Why, Penny, Jesse P, KaysSwagz, Emmyli, Bob Wizzy, Bishop Talk, Skinny Boy, Mr Sense, Mario, Reborn, E skillz, Metro, Zeenah etc to be in attendance.

 

You can also recall early dis month, Nigeria sensational singer ZULE ZOO also announced his coming to Kaduna via social media.. The White House In Rainbow Colors After Ruling On Same Sex Marriage!!

Many same sex couples are happy today after The Supreme Court ruled marriage as their constitutional right. In celebration of this equality, The White House decided to show some support of their own.

If you are in DC you, and you happen to pass the White House, you may notice it looks a little different tonight. The White House is fully lit with the colors of the rainbow flag representing the Supreme Court ruling, that gave same sex couples something they have fought towards for a long time. Earlier today Obama tweeted a message and sealed it with the hashtag #LoveWins making it clear that the President supports marriage equality for same sex couples.

 I'm Emmanuella E. Dauda popularly known as Ella (Ella Talks, A student of Kaduna State University studying Mass Communication , a show presenter, a fashion designer and above all a proud African woman).

K-Edutainment: Why did you choose the name Ellatalks and what does it mean?

 hahahaha.... Ellatalks, I choose the name Ellatalks because i wanted to do something different, Ellatalks sounds different because in the nearest future to come we will have programs like A Moment with EllaTalks, i just wanted something different from the other presenters. It actually mean "Ella is talking"

K-Edutainment: . Let's talk about the Show biz thing, many people know you as a show presenter, We want to know the real you, Who is Ella talks?

(lol) am just an African Lady, am just like any other lady out there but with so many potentials. I will say Ella is simple and fun to be with, with a humble background, i try my best to make people around me happy.

 

K-Edutainment: So how Old is Ella talks?

Lol.... Havent you been told never to ask a lady her age? well all i can say is am in my early 20's

K-Edutainment: So what is it like studying Mass Communication In KASU and still running show biz?

hmmm. studying Mass Communication in KASU is fun and also demanding, Running Show biz though show biz is still at its infant age in Kaduna, we trying our best but I must confess its not easy cos the two needs attention and dedication, but since my discipline is connected to show biz, cos am being trained to be a  broadcaster i will say am still training if there is anything like that.

K-Edutainment: How can you describe Show biz in Kaduna State?

 

 Show biz in Kaduna has been given birth but its yet to be named, keep your ears to the ground for the naming ceremony but how soon it will be all depends on Kaduna A-list artist and up-coming artist.

K-Edutainment: Has show biz been rewarding financially or otherwise for ?

A little bit.

K-Edutainment: Where do you see your career in the next 2 years?

Better and bigger than now.
